AN INTRODUCTION TO THE NORTH DEVON AND CORNISH COASTLINE.
For me the North Devon and Cornish coastline exudes a powerful magnetism and sense of romantic mysticism. stretching from the glorious heathland of Exmoor to the rocky headlands of Land's End.
A journey that takes us to the most amazing beaches, unspoilt and studded with their own distinct character and breathtaking views. The power and the strength of the sea rouses the elements and we are faced with an everchanging myriad of new structural forms and scenic beauty of which I have been compelled to capture.

Recently I have been working on a major project linked with a new Ipad application which is dedicate to tourism and photography in the South West in conjuction with Argent Publishing. This application is due to go live in the next couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see what sort of response arises from it.
I have been contacted and commissioned by Northern Devon Fisheries Action Group (FLAG) to provide images which are to be turned into 4 flags in conjunction with North Devon Plus. So I am quite curious as to what the images will look like as flags.
We have been working on writing a series of articles investigating and talking about different places within North Devon. The first article featuring Spekes Mills with supporting photographs will be out in the forthcoming October issue of the Bideford Post. This will be a regular feature and series appearing monthly in the paper.
There has been a lot of interest this year in people asking for images for their magazines and their web sites, which hopefully will serve to promote this beautiful area even more.
Having previously been commissioned by a large interior designers in London to provide images for large acrylic panels they have just recently contacted me for another major project they are working on. It's odd to think that a little bit of North Devon is somewhere in a large corporate business in London.
I have found that although we are in a major recession and I know that it is a worry to many people that I am still being asked for artwork and canvases. It has been a busy and successful Summer (if you can call it a Summer!!!!). It seems to be mostly the higher end artwork and canvases which are selling in the galleries and we have also had 2 very successful exhibitions which is extremely encouraging.
Due to the popularity of the North Devon Photography courses we have introduced some new locations and dates. Welcombe, Exmoor and Blackchurch rock are amongst them, which run alongside Hartland and Westward Ho! also we are doing waterfall workshops, photography tours and one to one courses.
I have been contacted by one of the top Photography Magazines, Outdoor Photography to use one of my images for the opening shot in the July 2012 issue. The image is of Blackchurch Rock. I am very excited about this and it will be interesting to see what it will look like in the print form of a magazine.
